let Purity Flow from our Heart

Readings for the Day:

Isaiah 7:10-14
Psalm 24:1-6
Romans 1:1-7
Matthew 1:18-24

St Paul in the second reading of today in the book of romans reminded us of what Christians are called to be in the World, its not a new thing, something everyone must have heard a million times, and possibly would hear a billion times before we die, we should not tire of hearing it but making it anew in our lives everyday; as Christians, we are called to be Holy.

This Holiness as people of God chosen out of the world should reflect in everything we do,in things we say and see. Not a new “saying” like I said earlier but God has a way of making old sayings refreshing in our Lives, that is why we can’t get tired of God’s words.

As Christian, just like St Paul, God has entrusted us with the mission of apostolate, of attracting people to God, ensuring they participate in this beautiful sacred mystery and by this we extend God’s kingdom here on earth. In our own way, Christ can be placed in the hearts of every man.

Christmas is around the corner, a time for us to show people how to celebrate the birth of Christ not just by going wild with eating and drinking but we show them with words and examples the love and care that ought to behind the celebration.

Let us then live our hearts wide open with purity flowing from it, for the Lord, the king of Glory to come and dwell within us this season and always.

May God bless and enrich our lives as we seek his face through Christ our Lord, amen.
