For My Patron Saint- The Man from Assisi

Saint Francis- my patron Saint

Saint Francis- my patron Saint

From the drinking arena
And the feasting table
A light drama unfolds In your life
And things turn around

You spill your life as wine
As you lay your feet at
The Cross of the Master
Whom you chose to follow

Your Friends gnare at you
When you decided to paddle
On the streams of Life
Leaving behind the world in rags

You showed delight for the poor
By marrying lady Poverty
And wearing its garments
As a witness of your commitment
To beg in the streets without
Minding whether they call you Crazy

Your lips is filled with
Rivers of praise
That the birds couldn’t resist
Its gentle touch on the sands

You build your life
Around the sacred scripture
In the glamour of abandonment
And the sprinkles of self sacrifice

The humility you portrayed
Sinks into the earth
With whom you later
Laid your head to breath its last

Your Sermons tears the jungle
Wide open leaving the Lion
With the heart of a lamb
From your glittering voice

The mark of the cross
Was stamped on your skin
By the hot iron from the altar
As a token of your love for the Divine

The walls are imprinted in your name
Your face in the gallery of the Saints
The Vicar of christ pays respect
By placing your name
As a portrait on the Seat of Peter

You are always present in the
mind of the Faithful
O you Great Man from Assisi

St Francis, Pray for us.
