St Vincent of Saragossa

Readings for the day:

1 Samuel 17: 32-33, 37, 40-51
Psalm 144: 1-2, 9-10
Mark 3: 1-6

Reflection:

Check out the Confidence of David in God

David answered him: “You come against me with sword and spear and scimitar, but I come against you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of israel whom you have insulted. Today, the Lord shall deliver you into my hands; I will strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will leave your corpse and the corpses of the philistine army for the birds of the air and the beasts of the field; thus the whole land would shall learn that israel has a God”. – 1 Samuel 17: 45-46

Oh! Can you smell total trust in God in David’s words. He was firmly rooted in the rock that saves, trusting in his protection. He knows whom he served right from his childhood. Do you know whom you serve? Can you boastfully beat your chest and go forth in everyday’s activities trusting in his Holy name for help? Can you call on him in difficult time with such confidence? Do you even believe in Him?.

Going forth in the Lord’s name in one’s life means abiding in his presence in every moments of our life and holding his hands in all our doings. No part of one’s life is to be relegated out of his dear face. For truly, the Lord grants help in everything and his eyes is especially glued to us. So, let us show the world that we have a God with our lives.

As a follower of Christ, let us be consumed in this confidence, knowing that we are totally cared for and we can plunge forth in his name in all our endeavors trusting that he is there with us.

May God help us.

Peace and Love of Christ
