St Angela Merici

Readings for the day:

2 Samuel 5: 1-7, 10
Psalm 89: 20-22, 25-26
Mark 3: 22-30

Reflections:

I have found David my servant and I have anointed him, that my hand may be always with him and that my arm may make him strong. -Psalm 89: 20-21

As Christians that have been baptized into Christ, God has found us and his hands rest on us; his mercy and faithfulness remains with us. Just like David, he would deliver us from our foes and he would lead us in this pilgrimage of life to a banquet prepared for us.

As we ponder on the life of St Angela merici this day, who was left as an orphan at a very young age. She didn’t give in to despair thinking God’s faithfulness ends there, rather she plunged forward and became what God wants her to be; here we are, she is a model for us today.

Like her, we can be whatever God wants us to provided we are faithful to him as He is to us, count on his mercy and walk with him.

May God help us.

Peace and Love of Christ
