Be Compassionate

Monday, 3-2-14

St Blaise, St Ansgar

Readings of the day:

2Samuel 15:13-14, 30; 16:5-13
Psalm 3:2-7
Mark 5: 1-20

“Go home to your family and announce to them all that the Lord in his PITY has done for you”. Mark 5:19

One of the thing characteristic of Jesus’s Life is his compassion for others. He healed the sick, cured the blind and other sort of diseases. He is the Lord of compassion and mercy. Haven done all this, he sent forth some cured to go and announce the loving compassion of God; so that they also would come and have a taste of the hot soup of the kingdom of Heaven.

For us followers of Christ, our Life also should radiate the Loving compassion of whom we follow, as we all may not be able to cure diseases but we can: visit the sick, feed the hungry, cloth the naked, check on the imprisoned and other sorts of thing that can show the pity that God also has for us in our wretchedness.

This is not an easy task but the one whom we tuck our feet is in shoes is ready to tie the knot if we are willingly to follow.

May our Lives continually radiate the Compassion of God, we ask this through Christ our Lord, amen.
