Where I would be this NIGHT

Oh! This night
I travel in spirit
With my brethren
On our road trip
To the etihad stadium
On the streets of
Lagos, Nigeria

My love for the travelers
Pump deep within
My hearts
As I hurry steadily
Into the theatre
With full heads in place

I pray Heavens
Favour the old legs
As they kick the rock
Into the goal post
For the away squad
Looks like a lion watering
In its den

As we move along
I saw the throne of angels
Leaning on the walls
Of the stadium
As the match
is about to kick-off
They also wait
In great anticipation

I wish
I could read minds
To see who they support
And what could possibly happen
But I’m but Mortal

As we all settle
With the whistle
On the referee’s lips
I only hope the outcome
Would be favorable

Go Blues!!!
