The Peace of God

Tuesday, 20-05-2014

Readings of the day:

Acts 14:19-28
Psalm 145:10-13, 21
John 14:27-31

One of the thing man craves for in life is peace. A stable rest of the mind, free from troubles and fear. Many flee to different things of the world in order to find peace: money, power, ambition and entertainment. All these things are good for us, they are good for our well being, they are made for us to connect with ourselves but we can’t find peace in them.

True peace, this can only derived by having an intimate connection with the divine maker, by sharing in his life, by breathing with his lungs and by seeing things with his eyes. With this, we see the things of the world as means not as an end to everlasting happiness, which is what peace brings about. From the lives of the Apostles, despite their suffering, they were not crushed for they have not lost balance with the one whom they suffered for, they have peace.

A great means to preserve continual peace and tranquility of soul is to receive everything from the hands of God, both great and small, and in whatever way it comes. ~ St. Dorotheus

Find peace, for you to be able to share this peace with others.

May God grant us peace through Christ our Lord, amen.

Peace and Love of Christ.
